Standing under the Pilkhan tree...
A hint of yellow
A hue of pink
Some shades and tints mixed with orange and olive green.
Just a few days of this visual treat
of myriad colours on new leaves
of myriad colours on new leaves
Come April, all will turn dark green.

Pilkhan Tree
Ficus Virens
Ficus Infectoria
A common Ficus in Delhi with an immense spreading canopy that displays wonderful changing tints when it renews its foliage in spring. It has thin long aerial roots wrapped along the trunk.
Leaves begin to drop around mid feb, new leaves in early March, going from purple to red, then through a dazzling array of russets, bronzes, and pale green.
