That's what my mind sees
each time I see a Laburnum tree.



Through the summer of dust and heat
As vapours rise from the black tarred street
I forget the sweat streams pouring down me 
My eyes brighten, mind lightens,

Cassia fistula / Indian Laburnum / Golden shower tree / Amaltas is widely grown as an ornamental plant in tropical and subtropical areas. Blooms in late spring. Flowering is profuse, with trees being covered with yellow flowers, with almost no leaf being seen. Grows well in dry climates.The tree blooms better where there is pronounced difference between summer and winter temperatures.
