The Man In The White Coat - jasmin arethna

A Tribute to the Doctors.

In a government hospital with a loved one since a week

as I watch the men (and women) in white coats

walk in and out of the many rooms

caring for the weak

some how...

all these men have the same streak

a simple hair do

a simple dress sense

just a regular school boy look

with a white overcoat to profess

Bespectacled are most eyes

rarely have time to smile

rushing bed to bed, room to room

little stressed, saving lives

Past many a waiting patients

thru the over crowded corridors

him you see

engrossed in work

absorbed in thought...

"which is the best way to give my patient relief?"

Be he with or without the white coat

your mind is relieved

to see

so many doctors

in and around the weak.

Through the crowd of OPD and inpatients injured or weak

a visit by the doctor

lightens the grief

reposes faith and relief

the man in the white coat

is most wanted

and the one we long to see.

In a world besotted with glamour and tweets

the simple bespectacled man

in the simple white coat

dedicatedly he treats

oblivious of the endorphins he evokes

as he works through infections and disease

His dedication and deeds

by no means simple or mean

maketh him handsome and the most wanted

even if his dress sense is bleak!
